Suzuki Kazuo was a distinctive Japanese actor who carved out a unique niche playing slimy or cowardly villains during the Golden Age of Japanese cinema and television.

Suzuki began acting during his student days and formally entered the Haiyuza acting training school in 1954. He eventually signed an exclusive contract with Toho Studios in 1961. A diminutive, Peter Lorre-esque actor, he found himself typecast in villainous, deceptive, or treacherous roles. For feature films, he is particularly memorable to genre fans as the lock-picking assassin in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964) and as a gun-toting alien operative in Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975).

Following his departure from Toho's exclusive contract system, he affiliated with Kumazawa Productions and shifted his focus to television, frequently appearing in detective and tokusatsu dramas. He achieved notable fame among younger viewers for portraying the recurring antagonist "Professor Ghost" in the superhero series Kamen Rider Super-1 (1980), as well as a variety of guest appearances spanning the Ultra franchise.

His formal acting activities appear to have ceased altogether after 1984. While his exact date of death remains unrecorded, various entertainment resources confirm he has since passed away.
